Hi, and thanks for visiting our home page. Feel free to wander around. Click on the  links below to find out more about our family.

.

This home page was originally started to provide a link to my genealogy site that had a very long "URL" that I could not remember. Then I started to add those things that interest me and might be of interest to you.

A personal home page would seem to be the ultimate conceit. But it is not intended to be that. It is offered simply as a gesture of communication. I hope you enjoy it.

I grew up in Northeast Arkansas during the forties and fifties near the small town of Walnut Ridge on a farm just outside of town where my Father   grew cotton and soybeans. I married Lynn Kerley  in 1956 and we moved to St Louis where I worked at McDonnell Aircraft Corp., as a sheet-metal assembler and riveter. Three years in an aircraft plant proved to be enough for this country boy so we moved back to Arkansas and started farming with my father.
We farmed until 1972 and decided that opportunities for a better living for our growing family were somewhere other than the rural area of northeast Arkansas.

We have lived in Memphis , Tennessee since 1975, and I have worked at a lot of different jobs, including selling vacuum cleaners door to door. I worked in the industrial chemical industry as a salesman for a while. I had a used car lot for a few years. I started a home improvement company that was quite successful.  I bought a farm in Mississippi and tried farming again during the eighties (still didn't work). I helped my sons build a home security company, an ADT dealership, "Security Alert, Inc.", which was the largest dealership ADT had in North America from 1995 until two thousand.

Heartland Security Inc is now servicing & monitoring our commercial and home  accounts with faster service and response time. We are no longer associated with ADT.
Heartland windows Inc. is the only company in this area that offers an alarm ready window that is complete with the contacts & wiring.

Lynn and I are both retired now and enjoying life. Along the way we have acquired three children, seven Grandchildren and one great grandson. I learned to fly several years ago and am still a very active instrument rated pilot. We fly more than 100 hrs per year in our personal plane traveling & vacationing in various parts of the USA. I play  golf quite often during the summer, although my handicap is rather high I still enjoy playing. I enjoy  fishing on the White River at Gaston's Trout Resort near Lakeview, Arkansas, and go there often.

We have become very interested in our ancestry and have done a lot of research on our families.

See our Genealogy site. We hope to do a lot of traveling this year searching for more "kinfolks" to add to our family tree.
